Two Months of Taytum Marie!
I cannot believe my little baby is already two months old! Everyone has told me “they grow up so fast” and it couldn’t be more true. I’ve taken a little bit of a social media hiatus to try to soak up as much of this time as I can, and it has never felt better. (Thanks for sticking with me!)

Taytum
I swear she changes every day! Either she feels heavier, is making a new sound or one of her onesies is all of a sudden too small. I just want to bottle her up and keep her this little forever!
She loves the car and going on walks which I am so thankful for! We generally get out for a walk in the morning/early afternoon and take one in the evening as well when T is done working. With being quarantined, getting outside makes all the difference!
She loves play time and it starting to grab onto her toys. She also loves being naked haha. Sometimes when she is upset we will just take her clothes off and she is completely content after. The diaper life it is I guess 🙂 She is becoming more and more aware and alert of her surroundings and is smiling a ton which is the absolute best!

Our Schedule
Taytum is following a schedule more regularly now but I try to give myself grace on the days that don’t go as planned. That’s life, right?! Each week she is getting better and better at sleeping which is just glorious for us! We keep the Happiest Baby Snoo Smart Sleeper in our bedroom and this is an absolute game changer for new parents. During the day I try to give her a nap or two in her crib in her own room just to get her used to the environment. And some naps I just hold her because I know that time will be short lived!
As far as scheduling, sleep training, etc. I’m taking insights from both Moms on Call and Taking Cara Babies and I would recommend both! Each method has specific aspects that I like/prefer and combining them has worked for us. I would highly recommend these resources!

How We’re Feeling
I’m such a busy body and my instinct is to clean, do the dishes or get something done every free minute I have but I’ve realized self care as a Mom is more important than ever! Setting aside time for myself truly makes all the difference. Whether it’s getting ready in the morning (even if it’s just three minute makeup!), taking time to relax during one or her naps or catching up on one of my shows in the evening (I’m currently watching season 2 of Dead to Me!) I try to allow myself time to recharge without feeling guilty.
It took me a little bit longer than I thought to feel 100% myself again. I think the combination of having a different labor/delivery experience than I expected (you can read more about Taytum’s Birth Story Here) and our world flipping upside down due to COVID-19, made the first few weeks different than we thought. But we are doing great and at the end of the day I am so thankful that we are healthy and we have a healthy baby – that’s really all I could ask for!
My company has a longer Maternity Leave policy for which I am so grateful! (I personally think maternity leave should be at least 6 months or a year, but that’s just me.) T has been working from home which has been a mixture of fun, crazy, helpful and busy! Trying to take important work calls with a crying baby is not so easy! But it has been so much fun having him home to be around Taytum more while I’m on leave – and so helpful!
Being parents is one of the hardest jobs we’ll do, that’s for sure. But so incredibly rewarding! And a ton of fun. We’re already talking about how much fun it will be for Taytum to have a sibling one day!

What We’re Loving Lately
Below are some of our favorite baby items we’re loving right now. Most things we use on a daily basis!
Happiest Baby Snoo Smart Sleeper – we have the Snoo set up in our bedroom and she sleeps so well in it! The Snoo is designed for babies up to about six months of age and we plan to use it as long as possible because this thing works wonders!
UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller – we use our stroller every single day, sometimes multiple times per day. I suggest grabbing this UPPAbaby Stroller Organizer for phone, keys, wallet, etc. while you walk as well as the Cup Holder
Snuggle Me Organic Pillow – perfect for lounging, naps and taking cute pics of your babe 🙂
MAM Pacifiers – before Tay was born I went out a bought several different pacifiers but she has only taken to MAM. If you have a MAM baby I found the cutest personalized paci on Amazon.
Comotomo Bottles – I am exclusively breastfeeding and pumping for supply but we love the comotomo bottles for when Tim wants to feed her or if mama needs a break 🙂
Fisher-Price Cradle ‘n Swing – this swing has several different settings and songs as well as a mirror on the top they can look at themselves in which they love 🙂 We usually put Taytum in the swing while we eat lunch and sometimes for shorter naps. It was especially helpful when she was a newborn because they feel comforted in the swing and it’s a safe place to set them down if your arms need a break!
Before I know it, we’ll be sharing a three month update! Until then, hope ya’ll have a great weekend!
xoxo
